X-Chat Aqua is a Mac OS X IRC client. If you are familiar with XChat for UNIX/GTK+/X Windows, then you will be at home with X-Chat Aqua. X-Chat Aqua uses the IRC engine from XChat and has been designed to look and feel like XChat. As time goes by, I expect that I will add features that are not necessarily part of XChat. What's New: Version 0.13.0: After a long delay, a new release. This release fixes many bugs and adds a few new features. Support for 10.2.x has been dropped. This is because the perl plugin no longer works with the version of perl that comes with 10.2. Although X-Chat Aqua doesn't strictly rely on the perl plugin, it does use it to handle clickable URLs. I could have made a version for 10.2 that doesn't come with (or require) the perl plugin, but I didn't like the idea of releasing and xchat variant without the perl plugin. Another factor is that it's a pain to maintain multiple plugins, and backward compatability. The final straw in this decision was that I want to take advantage of new features in 10.3. Future releases will make supporting 10.2 impossible. X-Chat Aqua 0.12.0 added support for checking for new releases but that feature is not being invoked for 0.13.0 becuase there's no way to disable the check, and 10.2 users don't have a new version to download.
